Every day hundreds (thousands, I don't know exactly) of people join the beloved dA community. You see those new names at Today Page and the list of New Deviants is updated every 20 seconds.
Yesterday I thought of a project "Patronize a Deviant" (PAD). It's not a contest. It's not even a very serious thing. But it could be a very good kind of entertainment for all the old farts and even the settled down newbies of deviantART.
Here is the plan:
We choose a week. For example, Dec 3 - Dec 9, or any other week.
During this week every deviant that wants to take a part in PAD project randomly chooses 5-10 deviants from New Deviants list.
When you choose somebody you should leave a welcome comment on this deviant's page and add him/her to your deviantWATCH.
After 1-3 years (the date can be specified) we meet somewhere (it might be a specially created dA account), share the lists of those deviants that we once have chosen and boast of their results within the community life.
If you decided to be a part of PAD project and watching some deviants, you will have no right to promote them in any way. The patronized deviant shouldn't also know that he/she is welcomed and watched by you because of PAD project. Though you can support and communicate with the patronized deviants to make sure they won't give up their dA activity.
Right now PAD is nothing but a pure concept. To make this concept a real thing I need your comments, ideas and suggestions. If you are interested, see the devoted journal entry.
